Alice M.'s Story
Upon graduating Xavier University, I worked for the Municipal Courts of Philadelphia, PA, Model Cities, Westinghouse Broadcasting Company(KYW-TV, BlueCross and, lastly, at Health Management Alternatives where I served as VP of External Affairs. After living in Philadelphia and enjoying a very successful career in Corporate America working in Community Relations and Corporate Community Re-investment(Grantmaking), I moved back to my childhood hometown, Macon, GA.
Despite being retired and determined to stay so, I got involved with the campaign efforts of the man who succeeded in becoming Macon's first Black Mayor. It was back to work! I served in several roles in that eight year adminstration, establishing or working on some very innovative projects and programs.
Retired, once again! However, whenever the opportunity arises, I conduct seminars on Etiquette and Manners for young adults, teens and tweens!
I've traveled Italy, France,Germany, Amsterdam, London, Copenhagen, The Netherlands,Belguim, US Virgin Islands and my favorite...the Caribbean, co-owned a home in Barbados and visited Islands of the Antilles, Martinque, St. Lucia and St. Maarten. A cruise to Alaska any July would top off my interest in traveling long distances from home. These days, I prefer short road trips!
If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the kitchen and add on a front porch. My dream home would be mortgage-free.
If I won $100 million, I'd give a generous amount of it to St. Peter Claver Parish School and Xavier University of New Orleans, then spend the rest on my brother and sister, my nephew, Phillip and invest for my really old-age needs.

ears, I hope to be still here. I'm going to get there by "hoping & praying and good sense protection of my health.
My first job was at WCRY Radio Station in 1957, where I got paid $$ that was sent home to my mother to save for me. After a few months, I was invited to work at WIBB Radio Station for the next three years...saved the eight months away at college....! What I remember most about it is how much fun it was to have all of the newest tunes and to learn all about the musical talents of the times and to be able to talk uninterrupted three to three and a half hours, spin records, six days a week.
Life is a beautiful experience thanks to all of my dear friends and some very special people who have taken me into their hearts and lives.
2012...Okay, so I am still here. That picture is three years old. Some skin that was higher on my face and other places is marching downward, but I am still recognizable!!! So don't mention it when we see one another. I, already, know it. So, tell me, now, "Who are you?"
The first three months of 2016 have produced some very surprising occasions!!! Young Macon entrepreurs who were not born...and , perhaps, neither were their parents... during those years have surprised me with very public awards and recognition of the "Party Doll" radio days. How did they learn of that!!??!! They, even, got our current Mayor to sign and present a framed document. And, I got a call, last week....and it will happen, again, with my Community Service involvement since coming home added on. Whew!!! Three times ,,,,whew!!!! I am so grateful to them and greatly appreciate their kindness and admiration.
